Lumber spine fracture in Phuket Island

Mr. Yan, a native of Gansu province, China, encountered an accident due to speeding boat while on vacation in Phuket Island with his’s son. He was rushed to a nearest hospital and diagnosed with lumber spine fracture. Yan’s family member were very worried, learning that further treatment cannot be done as there’s a language barrier and higher cost of treatment. Being a member of Lima Rescue, Yan’s family contacted Lima Rescue and detailed the situation.

Without any further delay, our coordinators contacted the attending doctor to learn more about Yan’s conditions and at the same time medical record were also obtained. After a thorough assessment of the medical condition, the best option available was to repatriate Yan through air ambulance. As there was unavailability of direct international flight to Gansu, Lima Rescue eventually flew Yan from Phuket to Xi’an by a medical aircraft and then transported to Gansu by ground ambulance.
