On 20th April morning, a helicopter crash occurred in Morowali, Indonesia, resulting in injuries to 3 persons and which includes 2 members of HealthLink. Through our professional and efficient response, we were able to successfully repatriate the victims back to China in the shortest time possible and provided a full range of devoted services.

On 23rd April late evening, HealthLink (Lima Rescue Hotline) received a call informing that two of its member and a non-member were injured in a helicopter crash in Morowali, Indonesia. After receiving the request to assist with the case, our coordinators immediately gathered information by contacting member’s relatives and the treating medical officer. We also gathered information about the non-member who was given all the necessary support and assistance as our member. When it comes to saving life, HealthLink know the right decision to be made and that is not to ignore any casualty.

Meanwhile our doctors evaluated the medical reports and overall physical conditions of the patients as injuries involved compression fracture of lumber vertebra, ribs fracture and hand fractures. A decision was made after carefully evaluating all the possible scenarios to repatriate two of the patients (one of the member and non-member) by Air ambulance equipped with spine boards and vacuum stretchers essential for immobilized the patients, and other member by first-class commercial fight on 25th April.

On 24th April, a medical team (a doctor and a nurse) was dispatched to Jakarta to assess the conditions of the patients. On the other hand, we made arrangements including ground ambulance at the airport and hospitalization (two beds available in general ward and a bed available in ICU).

On 25th April early morning, HealthLink staffs awaited to welcome the patients at Beijing International Airport. At around 9 am the patients arrived in Beijing safely and soon after vital signs was check by flight doctor to make sure of their physical state, and it was then time for the ground ambulance to execute their part, accompanied by our staffs the patients were transferred to Peking University People’s Hospital smoothly and it all went according to our plan.
