Viral Encephalitis and Pneumonia in Bali

Ting Ting had left her home in Chongqing for vacation in Bali. Not long after arriving at the island, her wish to spend a comfortable vacation turned into a nightmare when her body temperature started to raise beyond the normal range, and she felt into coma at the time she was taken into the hospital. Soon she was diagnosed with viral encephalitis and pneumonia, and it got worse. Due to the expensive medical cost and the language barrier, Ting Ting’s family contacted the embassy requesting for help to repatriate the patient back to Chongqing.

Our medical team contacted Ting Ting’s family member and attending doctor immediately to know more about the patient’s condition. Soon after evaluating and considering her deteriorating health conditions, an urgent medical repatriation through air ambulance was the best option available. Meanwhile, the news about incident was still circulating on the internet, and many people those who were concerned about the incident offered a helping hand by contributing fund to her treatment.

On July 14th, Tingting was discharged from the hospital and flown back to Chongqing through Air Ambulance. Upon arrival in Chongqing, HealthLink arranged tarmac ambulance and also prioritized hospital admission at Chongqing hospital. The family was very relieved to get Ting Ting’s back home safely.
